Kitchen tip of the week: To make a indoors compost you will need a sturdy container with lid to close, holds drill at the bottom for drainage. You will need soil, brown paper ( torn into small pieces)without writing on it. Your kitchen discard as of egg shells, vegetables discard, tea or coffee  after use, breads ends no meats or cheese or cook foods. Put soil at bottom of the container add kitchen discards,  add brown paper on top cover with more soil add 1-3  cups water depending on size of the container. Add lid place on tray to catch water, repeat, add water, soil, paper, kitchen discard and stir. After several weeks add to plants....

About us

At Farmer's Wife Kitchen for ten years, I have working hard perfecting farm to tables recipes. Producing and eating locally grown meats, vegetables and fruits has been a very enriching process for our. fami!y on Southard Farm.  Which is located in Louisa Virginia. We grow herbs,  veggies black walnuts and have cows, chickens, ducks and our four fur babbies. Our farm life is hard work but, Very enriching to us.
